Happy Monday everyone! For those of you who are counting, Thanksgiving is only three days away, which has many of us here at Turkey Hill pretty excited because it’s one of our favorite holidays (and not just because the word “turkey” is in our name). We have a few announcements below as we continue to plan our menus and/or our Thanksgiving travel plans.
- THE FAKE NEWS STORY IS… – Last Monday’s “Spot the Fake Ice Cream News” entry didn’t fool many of you, as most of you correctly guessed story #1 (about a man who survived by eating ice cream after getting trapped in a walk-in freezer for three days) as the bogus news item. That incident never happened but, like we said before, aside from the sub-zero temperatures of the freezer, being trapped with hundreds of gallons of ice cream isn’t so bad, is it?
- SEND US YOUR CHOCOLATEY RECIPE! – The deadline for this year’s Ultimate Holiday Recipe Contest (Chocolate Overload Edition) is November 25th, so you’ve got less than a week to send your best recipe to icecreamjournal@gmail.com. The only requirements: The recipe has to use Turkey Hill ice cream and it has be a chocolate lover’s dream come true (more details here). One recipe will win the grand prize: A year’s supply of Turkey Hill ice cream!
- SPEAKING OF RECIPE CONTESTS… – We don’t spend much time talking about milkshakes here on the Ice Cream Journal, which is a shame because milkshakes are delicious. We’ll talk more about shakes in the future (starting with the image above), but we wanted to poll our readers to see what you think about having a milkshake recipe contest here on the blog in the near future (probably in the Spring). Do you think it’s a good idea? Would you enter a recipe or two of your own?
